Swedish Therapeutic Massage Using classic Swedish techniques of long flowing strokes, the Swedish massage varies in pressure to reduce stress, relieve muscle tension and promote an overall feeling of relaxation.
Your session will start with broad, flowing strokes that calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension according to your individual needs. A light oil is used to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin. The oil also helps hydrate the skin. Shiatsu Shiatsu is a traditional form of bodywork, based on traditional Japanese massage techniques and the ancient principals of yin and yang. Gentle pressure and stretching motions are applied to specific areas of the body to improve the flow of energy (chi) and harmonize the functions of the internal organs. Regular Shiatsu treatment can improve the quality and balance of chi, allowing your body, mind and spirit to maintain a natural healthy state.
Shiatsu is performed on a mat on the floor, no oils are used, and the recipient wears light, natural-fibre pajamas. This massage consists of sustained pressure, squeezing, and stretching motions. It may also involve gentle holding as well as rocking, and pressure is applied with the therapists’ fingers, elbows, and feet. AromatherapyDrawing from centuries of tradition, this massage uses essential, pure and natural oils to release your stresses and nourish your psychological well-being.
